St. William’s – Fighting For Fairtrade!

Fairtrade is important to our school community.

St. William’s Catholic Academy has a ‘Fairtrade Steering Group’ which meets regularly across the term. The group is made up of children from each class, parents and staff. We even have our own Fairtrade Policy.

The Fairtrade Steering Group promotes Fairtrade in a variety ways including visits, assemblies and practical activities such as cookery to keep us all updated. Some of the activities can be seen in the photos below. We hold Fairtrade assemblies and coffee morning for parents.

We have worked hard to achieve our ‘Fairtrade School’ status and we will continue to support the work of Fairtrade in our school.

The Friends Of St.William’s are a small, charitable organisation.

Our friendly group of parents, grandparents and associates help to raise money through various events each year – you can see some of the events in our slideshow below. These include: Bingo Evening, The Christmas Fayre, Discos, Party in the Playground and Coffee Morning.

Our committee has a friendly meeting every term to organise these various events. Please feel free to come along to these meetings – we always welcome new members. All money raised goes towards buying resources for the children.

The gallery is full of a wealth of photographs to give a real insight into the rich and varied experiences the children have in our school. Have a look at some of the wonderful things we do at our school.
