Our Mission Statement

'We Love and Learn Together....'

At St William’s, our mission statement is not just displayed on walls — it is woven into the heart of our school community. It was thoughtfully crafted in partnership with staff and pupils, ensuring that every word reflects our shared values, aspirations, and faith. Together, we created a statement that is understood, embraced, and lived out by everyone in our school.

“We love and learn together in the light of the Lord.”

This simple yet powerful message guides everything we do. It speaks to our commitment to nurturing a school environment where love, learning, and faith flourish side by side.

To help us live out this mission daily, we developed the ST WILLIAM’S acrostic, which is used as a daily prayer and a constant reminder of how we are called to behave, grow, and support one another:

  • Sharing and being considerate
  • Together as a team
  • Working hard
  • Inspiring others
  • Listening, learning
  • Loving and forgiving
  • In a caring family environment
  • Aiming high and doing our best
  • Many smiles are shared
  • Safe in the arms of Christ

This prayer is recited each day in classrooms and assemblies, helping children to reflect on their actions and attitudes. It is more than a set of words — it is a spiritual and moral compass that shapes our relationships, our learning, and our school culture.

Children know it by heart, understand its meaning, and strive to live it out in their interactions with others. Staff model it in their teaching and care. Parents and carers see it reflected in the way their children grow in confidence, kindness, and faith.

At St William’s, our mission is a living reality — a shared commitment to being a community where Christ is at the centre, and where every child is supported to become the very best version of themselves.
